How long have you been a KISS fan for and what was the first KISS record you heard? I've been a KISS fan since the mid-90's. First just listening to 80's songs on old tapes, later - more aware of the band - MTV Unplugged and the Reunion started it all. I was born in 1982, my first KISS show was in 1997 (Utrecht) and it was just perfect. The first KISS album I owned was GREATEST KISS, soon followed by all the remastered classic albums.
What was the first bit of KISS merchandise you bought? I am not entirely sure, but I think it was a DESTROYER flag, which has covered my childhood bedroom ceiling for years.
What is your favourite piece you own, and which is the most rarest? Although I'm proud of the entire collection, my favourite piece has to be the Bally Pinball machine. Quite rare to find an American version in perfect working order on this side of the Atlantic. The rarest piece? Not sure, but in the running are: the Marvel Comics Super Specials, the used and signed drumhead and sticks from the 2010 Arnhem show, FIRST KISS, LAST LICKS promo album, DESTROYER 24 inch singing dolls and (of course) the Meet & Greet memorabilia. Gene accidentally signed my Guitar Case Box Set 3 times and personalised it to my wife, daughter and myself. That's an item we're all very proud of.
What KISS rarity would you most like to add to your collection? I'd love to own the 1979 Radio Control Van in its original box. I'm a sucker for items in their original packaging. Also, the DYNASTY Bears collection is not complete yet. Still missing Peter and Ace. Other than that: any Aucoin item would be cool to add.
What does your family or partner think of your KISS obsession? My wife supports me by helping me find stuff online. In the meantime, I am very happy she also makes sure I don't spend too much money on the collection. Our daughter loves the band and will see them live for the first time in May 2017. If it was up to her, we'd buy every KISS item we can get our hands on...
