How long have you been a KISS fan for and what was the first KISS record you heard? I've been a KISS fanatic since 1976, I came across my brother's DRESSED TO KILL album. He wasn't a fan. He had gotten it as part of joining some record club. Needless to say, he never got it back. I memorised the entire album, than broke my piggy bank and bought DESTROYER within a month.
What was the first bit of KISS merch you bought? There was so much back in the 70's that it's hard to pinpoint. There were Colorforms, View-Masters, makeup kits, plastic guitars, the Mego dolls, Halloween costumes, I had it all.
What is your favourite piece you own, and which is the most rarest? I love my autographed Gene Simmons Axe bass. I have one of the high end models that Gene autographed and included the personalised Meet and Greet. I have so many memories associated with getting to meet him one on one. I also met so many awesome people that I still keep in touch with today. The rarest would have to be my KISS concert banner. I made it the week after my grandmother died. It was a time that I wanted to be alone, but I ended up being there with Paul, Gene, Peter and Ace. It won me front row tickets to see them in concert. I have since had each one of them sign and personalise it to me.
What KISS rarity would you most like to add to your collection? My holy grail would be a "real" pair of Gene Simmons boots. I have several pairs of replica but nothing would compare to owning the real thing.
What does your family or partner think of your KISS obsession? My wife is super-supportive. It also gives her an excuse to buy whatever she wants. She'll say, "Oh I can't have a new purse but you can buy a new KISS lunchbox?"
