Location: I'm from Montreal, Canada.
How long have you been a KISS fan for and what was the first KISS record you heard?? Always having loved horror movies, I overheard kids talking about The Demon, The Starchild, The Spaceman and The Catman. I wanted to learn more so I finally discovered these strange characters on the cover of DESTROYER I was hooked ever since and that was back in 1976. ROCK AND ROLL OVER was the first LP I heard.
What was the first bit of KISS merchandise you bought? Even at 10 years old, I had a pretty good collection. The first bit of merch I owned were the KISS Dolls. But unfortunately, I often played KISS vs. Godzilla and the dolls got pretty battered up. I purchased another set years later complete and in boxes. No more battles between KISS and Godzilla now, everything is still in box and untouched.
What is your favourite piece you own, and which is the most rarest? You know what they say, “You always remember your first". My favourite piece is and will always be the Mego dolls. I own quite a few 70's pieces though that I am proud of including the Ace mask and costume, the model van and the lunch box complete with thermos to my collection.
What KISS rarity would you most like to add to your collection? I'm always in search of rare 70's merch. I would love to get the trashcan, remote control van, the rest of the costumes and the record player...but the holy grail of all merch is by far the pinball machine...one day...one day.
What does your family or partner think of your KISS obsession? Well, no one I was ever with had a problem with my passion for the band, if they did...well, bye bye. My mom, she thinks it's cool. I drove her nuts when I was a child and she can't believe I'm still a fan and have an ever growing collection. She's even more amazed that KISS is still around for nearly 40 years and she does enjoy watching Gene Simmons Family Jewels. I've included a picture of her wearing a KISS t-shirt she asked me to get her at one of their shows.
