KISS collector Mark Cicchini says: "KISS press kits ALL varied due to what was in the Aucoin offices at the time. What this means is whatever pictures/newsprint articles were available on the day that they were mailed, that is what ended up in the kit. There was no "set" collection for them, with the exception of the current bio & new LP release info. Bill Aucoin told me to my face the information above. Bill also told me that there was No ALIVE! press kit or promo posters as the band were broke at the time. All promotion funds were channeled into print ads. So if you own a press kit, like the ones pictured here from my collection, you may have some different photos & features articles. This was normal. There was no "template" for a "complete" press kit. KISS ARMY kits also had variances too for these same reasons...they sent what ever they had available."

UK KISS ARMY KIT
1982, UK KISS ARMY
Sounds a bit desperate, doesn't it?You have to "convince" a friend whose "life isn't worth living unless they join the KISS Army" to win a KISS Super Trooper badge. Nah, that's just the sarcastic British sense of humour. Although, tough times indeed for KISS and the last KISS Army letter to be sent out anywhere. The KISS Sergeant badge was, according to EverythingKiss.com's UK reporter Paul Scarborough "Measured approx 1.5cm x 3cm and as I said, was 'awarded'. (You couldn't buy this thing, it was that precious, ha!) to UK Army members who sent in a letter, photo, article, etc that was actually used in the magazine.* Also, check out the embossed stripes in case there were any doubts that you were a Sarge!"
