CHILDRENS' BELT
1978
A very strange one. This blue belt has no KISS/Aucoin copyright details, no ‘Image Clothing’ tags at all. The logo does not even resemble the official KISS logo. So by all evidence presented, it’s not official? Right?
Well oddly, a similar belt (but not the same) is depicted in the Image Clothing ad from 1978 (designed by KISS costume designer, Maria Contessa). Some fans even claim they remember purchasing in-store when they bought the other clothing from the Image range. It has even been speculated that the lack of a correct logo was down to technology at the time only offering a choice of a few pre-set typefaces that they could etch into the metal buckle.
Most of this is just conjecture, however, and at the time of publication, opinion is divided.
